Art Basel Hong Kong 2024

A bustling attendance at the 2024 edition of Art Basel Hong Kong

Art Basel Hong Kong 2024 marked a resurgence for the prestigious international art fair after years of scaled-back operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Though visitor numbers dipped slightly compared to 2023, the event featured a robust lineup of 242 exhibitors, up significantly from 177 the previous year. The fair showcased a comprehensive array of Pacific Asian art, with galleries highlighting established and emerging talent, and immersive installations.

Art Basel Hong Kong’s expanded 2024 edition signaled the fair’s comeback as a leading platform for modern and contemporary art from the Pacific Asian sphere and its diaspora communities. While this year saw a small decline in overall attendance, the quality and breadth of the artistic offerings demonstrated the resilience of the arts sector as it rebounds from the challenges of the pandemic era. The successful 2024 revival bodes well for Art Basel Hong Kong to build even greater momentum in the coming years.
