The first to apply the Chinese brush to Western oil painting, Gu Yuan uses the freehanded spirit of the East combined with the expression techniques of the West, resulting in his works to have a dignified, free and easy, handsome beauty.

Born in Anshan, Liaoning province in 1967. Gu Yuan entered Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts in 1987.
